Is TRANSPOR®
a technology, a fiber, a fabric, or a garment?
Yes, all of the above, but it's
best to think of TRANSPOR® as the unique moisture
control technology that keeps you drier and more
comfortable. TRANSPOR® is a word used to describe
many things, like you use the word cotton: "It's
a cotton shirt, made from cotton fabric, which is
made from cotton fibers, that came from cotton,
and of course, without the TRANSPOR® technology
it just soaks up moisture and sticks to your skin."

What do you
do, spray it on like paint?
Answer: No,
TRANSPOR® apparel is made from fabric carefully
manufactured by our certified licensees. Besides, TRANSPOR®
is a trade secret. The TRANSPOR® technology is like
a three-legged stool it doesn't work without
all three legs: 1) select yarns, 2) specific fabric
constructions made with 3) secret manufacturing processes.

If
my garment is wicking, why won't it stop sticking?
Remember how a wick works in
a kerosene lantern? It draws the kerosene from the
inside of the lantern up to the top of the wick
so it continues to burn. It spreads the moisture
so it evaporates quicker, but yet you are still
wet against the skin.
Basically, a garment that wicks
saturates from moisture moving through or along
the outside of the yarns. It's wet inside and out.
It sticks to your skin. Moisture just spreads throughout
the fabric, but not necessarily from the skin side
to the outside of the garment like TRANSPOR®
fabric. Wear them and you'll feel how TRANSPOR®
garments actually dry from the inside out. (Some
clothes don't even wick: they just hold moisture next
to the skin.

What
does "beyond wicking" mean, anyway?
Up
until now, wicking has been your best bet to beat
moisture. But if it only wicks, you're still all wet.
The TRANSPOR® technology still takes advantage
of the wicking properties of various yarns, but uses
them in a more effective manner. Most TRANSPOR®
garments are "bilayer": they have the unique
TRANSPOR® dry layer built right in next to the
skin and a wicking layer on the outside. The TRANSPOR®
yarns in the dry layer do not allow moisture to crawl
along or flow through them. Instead moisture exits
through the spaces between the yarns, continually
moving to the outside wicking layer of the fabric
where it spreads and evaporates. Sorry, but there's
nothing funny about this question. It's the Sacred
Core of the TRANSPOR® Technology. The holy grail
of Moisture Management.

Dry Faster - The
MMT Index measures the one way moisture
movement from the skin-side of the fabric
to the outside. The higher this rating the
better the technology works. The TRANSPOR®
performance rates up to 45 times higher than
the competition keeping you drier and more
comfortable all the time. The results speak
volumes. |

Stay Drier -
The
MMT Index rating measures the
one way moisture movement form the outside
of the fabric to the inside. The higher
the NEGATIVE rating the better the technology
works. TRANSPOR® is so superior to the
competition it stops the moisture from coming
back to your skin. Our product moves the
moisture away from your skin and keeps it
away. You stay dry and more comfortable
all the time.
The proof is in the testing.

Do
all TRANSPOR® garments have a "bilayer"
construction?
No, since the TRANSPOR®
dry layer can actually be its own separate garment
when used in conjunction with a wicking garment as
part of a moisture management system. TRANSPOR®
ski liners are very effective when worn with another
wicking pair of socks or in a boot with a wicking
lining.

So
is this just like CoolMax, Nike Dri Fit, Under Armour
or what?
The brands listed above are
using treated synthetic yarns or yarn that is made
with "channels" that allegedly move moisture.
In our in-store research, and MMT tests we've seen
it wick moisture and we've seen it repel moisture.
You be the judge. Check the competition
page to see TRANSPOR® and its competitors in
action. Then if you think seeing is believing, try
feeling. Try the test yourself at home. Drop some
moisture on a competitor's sock, shirt or lining.
If it actually spreads the moisture around, notice
how the wetness is equal on both sides of the fabric.
Try the same test with TRANSPOR®. The skin side
feels dry faster. Wearing is believing.

How
long does it last? Will TRANSPOR® wash out?
Unlike many wicking treatments
that are just temporary coatings, TRANSPOR®
lasts the life of the garment. With each wash (and
we, along with your close friends, do recommend
washing), the original properties of the TRANSPOR®
dry layer are restored to the fabric. Some TRANSPOR®
fabrics even perform better after many washings.
Please buy some right now, use it for a decade and
then get back to us immediately with your findings.

Are
there any special handling instructions with TRANSPOR®
apparel?
It's easy care, especially since
most TRANSPOR® clothes are almost dry by the
end of the spin cycle. The label says: machine wash
warm, tumble dry low, do not bleach or use softeners.
Do not iron. Okay, use a cool iron, if it's really
cool, like you. TRANSPOR® takes care of you,
so you need to take care of TRANSPOR®. TRANSPOR®
apparel is excellent for traveling. Wash + wear.
